Introduction

This book is a complete set of the Tennessee Rules of Civil Procedure, including comments by the Advisory Commission, as modified by Rules of the Claims Commission.  The rules of civil procedure are current as of July 1, 2022, and the modifications as ordered by the Claims Commission are current as of August 2019, the date on the publication of the rules as maintained by the Tennessee Secretary of State.   According to a check of the Secretary of State’s website on February 27, 2023, there have been no amendments to the Claims Commission’s regulations since August, 2019.

This is the text of the rule adopting the Tennessee Rules of Civil Procedure generally in the Claims Commission:

Tenn. Comp. R. & Reg. 0310-01-01-.01 APPLICABILITY OF TENNESSEE RULES OF CIVIL PROCEDURE AND CORRELATION WITH T.C.A. § 9-8-403(a)(1). Proceedings before the Tennessee Claims Commission shall be conducted pursuant to the Tennessee Rules of Civil Procedure (TRCP) and subsequent amendments and interpretations where applicable except where specifically modified by these rules.

The rules of civil procedure are usually updated annually, with changes effective July 1.  Changes to the Rules of the Claims Commission are not on a set schedule.
